Job Title:Junior Data Scientist

Location:East Midlands

Working Model:3 days in-office, 2 days remote

Employment Type: 6-month FTC with possible extensions

About The Role

We are looking for an energetic and innovative junior Analyst to join our client’s team. This role combines analytics and data science to drive commercial benefits by translating complex data into actionable insights. You’ll work with large datasets, support customer ranging decisions, evaluate trials, and enhance reporting capabilities. This hands-on position involves collaborating with a team and engaging with stakeholders to deliver strategic business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and provide actionable insights from complex data.
  • Support customer ranging decisions and commercial trials.
  • Improve reporting capabilities and integrate new data.
  • Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Essential Skills

  • Analytical or Data Science experience, or relevant quantitative degree.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with GIS software and techniques, or Alteryx Designer
  • Experience with MI or data visualisation tools such as Power BI
  • Demonstrable record of delivering results in a dynamic, commercial environment
  • Ability to deal well with ambiguity, prioritising requirements and making recommendations
  • Expertise in working with large structured and unstructured datasets
  • Experience in using Databricks within a cloud based environment
