This is a permanent role working on a hybrid model.

The IT Operations Manager will manage and actively support the IT infrastructure and operations within the organisation.

This is a hands-on role overseeing the IT service desk, infrastructure, and vendor management, you will also directly contribute to operational excellence and strategic projects, such as the implementation of an MSP for Azure and on-premises infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities Strategic Infrastructure Leadership The IT Operations Manager will guide key infrastructure projects, actively participating in the transition to and oversight of Azure services alongside on-premise systems.

Network and Security Oversight Collaborate with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to supervise the management of both on-premise and cloud network infrastructure.

This includes network planning, configuration, and optimization to ensure maximum uptime and performance.

The role also involves leading the monitoring and management of security operations, implementing advanced cybersecurity strategies, and conducting regular security evaluations to mitigate potential risks.

Technical Project Leadership Spearhead technical projects and continuous improvement efforts, ensuring that all changes are delivered within the designated timeline, budget, and specifications.

Service Excellence Deliver exceptional service by engaging proactively with stakeholders across the organization.

Provide accurate management data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to promote a culture of continuous improvement and ensure close monitoring of business resilience.

Manage a team of four service desk engineers, including setting clear objectives, offering hands-on technical support, conducting performance assessments, and promoting professional growth.

Vendor and Outsourced Services Coordination Manage relationships with external vendors, including outsourced IT services.

Ensure that vendors adhere to contracts, meet service level agreements, and align with the organizations strategic IT objectives.

IT Governance and Compliance Assurance Take a central role in IT governance, ensuring that all IT operations align with relevant legal requirements, regulations, and industry best practices.

This includes maintaining proper documentation and processes for auditing and reporting purposes, as well as overseeing risk management and business continuity planning.

Experience Required At least 3 years of experience in an IT operations role with expertise in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and virtualization technologies.

Practical experience in managing and optimizing IT infrastructure, encompassing both on-premises and cloud environments, server stacks, networking, and storage solutions.

Proven ability to innovate and implement cost-effective IT solutions that support the organizations objectives.

Experience in leading and managing teams.

Comprehensive understanding of network architecture, including LAN and WAN.

Proficient in network management tools, VPN configurations, and network security measures.

Strong knowledge of cloud security practices and cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).

Expertise in automating routine tasks, managing patches, and ensuring that system updates are efficiently applied.

Essential and Desirable Skills At least 3 years of experience in an IT operations role with expertise in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and virtualization technologies.

Educational Requirements A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering.

Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CISCO, AWS, CompTIA).
