Cambridge BHF Centre of Cardiovascular Research ExcellenceNon-Clinical Intermediate-Level Fellowships

The University of Cambridge has identified cardiovascular disease as a major research priority, and this has been endorsed by the recent award of a British Heart Foundation Research Excellence Award of £5 million (2024-2019).

The Cambridge BHF Centre of Research Excellence brings together a wide range of cardiovascular research groups across the University of Cambridge and affiliated institutions. More information about the Centre's aims and main research themes can be found here: .

We are now inviting applications for non-clinical intermediate-level transition fellowships. These fellowships are available for outstanding postdoctoral researchers in basic biomedical science, applied health research and population/data science, and translational medicine, or outside traditional areas working at the interfaces of disciplines - particularly where adoption of techniques outside cardiovascular science or medicine can accelerate translational research.

Successful applicants will have an outstanding record of research and its communication in a relevant subject. The post holders will need to be able to work independently as well as in active collaboration with multi-disciplinary partners.

Fixed-term: The funds for these fellowships will be available for up to two years from the commencement of the post.

Informal enquiries about these posts can be directed to the Centre Manager, Dr Jane Sugars ().

Interviews will be held on Thursday 24th October 2024.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check, a health assessment, a security check and a standard Disclosure and Barring Service check. This appointment also requires a Research Passport application.

The University actively supports equality, diversity and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society.

The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
