Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Child Health Team based in Canterbury to be part of the ASD diagnostic team with an additional day offering SLCN assessment and interventions within the community.

We encourage an evidenced based, outcome focused approach to meeting the needs of our service users. We currently provide an ASD diagnostic service to children under the age of 8 years.

This post will be based at Green Banks Centre in Margate with the community day in Buckland Hospital, Dover. You will be responsible for providing an expert speech and language therapy opinion as part of the autism diagnostic process. You will be working predominantly with paediatricians but the post will also include some working with psychologists and specialist nurses. For the community day you will work within the integrated therapy team in Dover, predominantly working with early years children and much of this intervention will be with autistic children.

Clinics will be required on occasion in Canterbury.

You may also have some clinics where you will be providing an ADOS only appointment.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking:

Someone with at least 4 years previous experience working with children to include experience working within the field of ASD an effective registration with the Health Professions Council and have a professional degree in speech and language therapy a proactive, creative and highly motivated therapist a passionate and innovative individual a team player to join our existing friendly team Ability to travel round the locality may be required at times.

Access to department specialists and senior staff for advice and support and joint working. Monthly supervision Child Protection supervision 4 times per year.
