As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled and experienced HIAB Operator with HGV driving experience to join our team. Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced HIAB Operator with a valid HGV license to join our fleet of delivery drivers. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a HIAB crane and delivering building materials to our customers, ensuring safe and efficient deliveries to construction sites, businesses, and private properties. Key Responsibilities: HIAB Operation: Safely operate a HIAB crane to load and unload materials, ensuring the safe and accurate placement of goods at delivery sites. Driving Duties: Drive HGV vehicles to transport building materials, ensuring adherence to road safety regulations and company policies. Customer Service: Provide a professional and courteous service to customers, assisting with offloading and delivering goods to the correct location on-site. Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment at all times, both in the yard and while making deliveries. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure the vehicle and HIAB equipment are in safe working order. Report any faults or maintenance requirements promptly. Documentation: Complete delivery paperwork, including delivery notes, logs, and any required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the warehouse team, sales, and other drivers to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries. Key Requirements: Experience: Proven experience operating HIAB equipment and working as an HGV driver, with a solid understanding of delivery logistics and safety procedures. Licensing: Valid Class 2 (C) HGV driving license and a current HIAB certification (with experience in remote controls, hook load, and crane operations). Physical Fitness: Ability to manually handle materials, load/unload heavy goods, and perform physically demanding tasks when required. Customer-Focused: Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with clients and colleagues professionally. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow delivery instructions and ensure the safe and accurate handling of materials. Health & Safety Awareness: Good understanding of health and safety standards, especially regarding the use of cranes, lifting equipment, and vehicle operation. Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, but also independently when needed. Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and occasionally assist with additional duties during busy periods. Desirable Attributes: Previous experience in the building materials or construction industry. Knowledge of local roads and construction site delivery requirements.
