We are looking to employexperienced HGV driversto join the Backline team on afull-time, guaranteed weekly wage/hours basisto work with our clients, driving rigids and/or articson distribution and trunking duties. The main purpose of this role is to work as a ‘Cover Driver’ where you will provide daily support for our clients to cover sickness and other last-minute challenges.

All the relevant skills, qualifications and experience that a successful applicant will need are listed in the following description.
As a Cover Driver you will have guaranteed weekly wages that will provide you with the security of a predictable, assured income. Should there not be work for you on any day, you will still receive a full day’s retained pay.
This role has all the variety and flexibility that contract work gives you but with the added financial security of guaranteed weekly hours/wages plus overtime. The role comes with benefits such as a free ongoing training package that includes disciplines such as HIAB, ADR, Moffet, CPC and also licence upgrades (rigid to artic). Our aim is to provide you with steady, flexible work and to offer you upskilling opportunities that puts you ahead of the others. We strive to provide our customers with the very best drivers out there at short notice.
About you:
We are looking for drivers with aminimum of a 2 year’s commercial HGV experiencewho are looking for variety and flexibility. Initial criteria include:
* Max 6 points for minor offences
* Valid class 1 or 2 HGV licence, CPC and digicard
* 2 years HGV driving experience
* 2 years checkable work history
* An ambition to settle into a steady, varied and fully flexible role

* Holiday pay is accrued separately and NOT rolled up in your hourly rate
