Head of Engineering – London | Hybrid. NearTech ispleased to be working with a Series A funded start-up in theenvironment space. Having been established for 18-months, they’vealready seen good growth within their flagship data-driventechnology hub and good growth with clients in the trade andimport/export sphere. Having grown the team from the ground up to ateam of 4, they’re now looking for a Head of Engineering to steerthe team and work in tandem with the CEO as the company movesforward. Within the role, you can expect to: Oversee thedevelopment and continued implementation of their product solutionLead and mentor a small engineering team, helping to foster aculture of natural curiosity, growth mindset, and drivingexcellence Work in tandem with business leaders to collaborate andalign engineering efforts with business goals Recruit, onboard, andtrain new hires within the software team, helping to establish a QAfunction as well Manage project timelines, department budgets andresources until project delivery The technical bit: The company is,at its heart, data driven, using data tools such as Python,Snowflake, and accompanying data science stack. Their Engineeringteam compliments this, by using the following: Python, Django, FastAPI, JavaScript (React), RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, PyTest, Docker,Kubernetes. Whilst the business does use AWS , they’d love for acandidate to be a real expert in it, with CI/CD, S3, RDS, EDS, EKS,Terraform. Whilst this is a managerial role, due to the nature ofthe business, this role will be 50|50 hands on | hands off.Candidates applying should come from strong Python / Django codingbackgrounds, and happy working in a 50|50 fashion.
