Head of Product Delivery - sports analytics/betting
Location: London or Leeds (but remote working is an option)
Salary: Negotiable but around £600-£800 a day
*This is likely to be a contract for a minimum of 9 months. In all likelihood, there will be the option of making this permanent*
Purpose of role:
As a Head of Product, you will be responsible for defining and executing the product vision for your product portfolio, driving product innovation, and delivering exceptional user experiences across our diverse portfolio of betting products. You will have a deep understanding of our user’s needs, identify opportunities, and drive the creation of products that solve for our customers and achieve our wider business ambitions. You are a strong people leader, able to inspire, motivate and coach your teams.
Key responsibilities:
- You will oversee multiple Product Managers and product teams, shaping the product strategy at a higher level.
- You will develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for your product portfolio aligned with the overarching product strategy and OKRs which, as a strong data analytics company, should include both internal and external products that benefit both our continual improvement and our business goals.
- You will identify growth opportunities and continually drive the evolution of our product roadmap to maintain a competitive edge in our industry.
- You will collaborate with executive leadership to align product strategy with overall business objectives and the departments OKRs.
- You will develop, lead and coach a stellar team of product managers and product owners, guiding them in discovery, prioritization, and execution of product initiatives. By providing development, coaching, objectives and goal setting and performance management, you will ensure the team is motivated and productive, achieving real customer and business impact.
- You will collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders including design, technology, compliance, commercial, finance and legal to ensure successful product launches and ongoing success.
- You will serve as product evangelist both internally and externally. Present product updates and benefits to stakeholders, customers, and partners.
Experience and knowledge:
Demonstrable over two years’ experience as a Head of Product Management leading multiple teams within the Sports Betting industry, with a solid understanding of sports modelling, odds compilation, and risk management.
Skills and competencies:
Essential:
- Ability to analyse customer data, user metrics, and market trends to inform product decisions.
- Effectively leading and collaborating with different teams (Engineering, Trading, Data Science) to bring the product vision to life.
- Coaching, mentoring and performance management of Product Mangers through the product lifecycle and helping them define and drive the product strategy.
- Communicating product strategy to stakeholders, negotiating with partners, and managing internal and external expectations across multiple Products simultaneously.
- Understanding regulations, responsible gaming features, and customer protection measures is paramount.
- Knowledge of gambling laws and regulations across different jurisdictions is crucial.
Desirable:
- Basic knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques to understand customer behaviour and product performance.
- Deep understanding of sports analytics and how a data driven approach can be used to define strategy.
- An understanding of odds calculation, risk management and pricing distribution.
- A passion for sports with a deep understanding of the rules, strategies used, and the impact individual players have on the performance of the team as whole.
