This pivotal role involves leading teams responsible for data standards, engineering, and financial reporting, ensuring robust data management and reporting across the Trust. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering, team management, and strategic development, with a strong understanding of NHS data systems. Team Leadership:
Manage the Data Standards, Data Engineering, and Finance Information teams, overseeing recruitment, development, and performance.Data Policy Development:
Implement and maintain data standards policies, ensuring compliance with NHS guidelines and leading data quality audits.Strategic Data Engineering:
Lead the development and maintenance of data warehouses and cloud-based solutions, ensuring data integrity and scalability.Reporting Oversight:
Oversee financial reporting, ensuring timely delivery to meet internal and external needs.Stakeholder Collaboration:
Engage with senior stakeholders to align data reporting with strategic goals and contribute to key workstreams.Risk and Resource Management:
Manage risks and resources effectively to meet the Trust’s information needs.Policy and Service Development:

Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Data Standards and Assurance, Data Engineering, and Finance Information teams.Oversee recruitment, performance management, and professional development of team members.Ensure teams deliver high-quality data solutions and reporting.Data Standards and Policy Development:Develop, implement, and maintain data standards policies in compliance with NHS guidelines.Lead data quality audits and promote best practices for data collection.Strategic Data Engineering:Act as the strategic and architectural lead for data engineering within the Trust.Oversee the development and maintenance of data warehouses and cloud-based data platforms.Ensure data integrity and scalability through robust governance policies.Oversee the production and delivery of financial data sets.Ensure reports meet both internal requirements and external obligations.Stakeholder Engagement:Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align data reporting with the Trust’s strategic goals.Participate in senior strategic meetings and contribute to major reporting workstreams.Risk and Resource Management:Manage risks related to data reporting and ensure efficient resource allocation.Support key projects by managing the delivery of information requirements.Policy and Service Development:Contribute to the development and implementation of the Trust’s Digital Strategy.Support the adoption of new technologies and maintain consistent reporting systems.General Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with Trust policies on health and safety, data protection, and equal opportunities.Maintain confidentiality and follow Trust policies on data management and governance.Promote a wider understanding of data quality and its importance within the Trust.This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and extensive experience in data engineering and reporting within a healthcare setting.Person specificationQualifications
Degree level education in a numerate subject plus at least seven years post degree experience in informatics, data warehouse management and reporting or length of service and experience equivalent.MBA, Masters or PhD in numerate subject.Experience
