RoleOverview The Head of Data Science and Analytics will grow and leada high-performing team of data scientists and analysts to drivevalue through advanced analytics, experimentation, and insightgeneration across Bauer Media Audio’s digital, product, commercial,and operational domains. This role will play a pivotal part inembedding data-driven thinking across the organisation, enablingactionable insights that influence product decisions, consumerengagement strategies, operational efficiencies, and revenueoptimisation. You will define and deliver the vision and strategyfor data science and analytics, ensuring alignment with broaderbusiness objectives and technological direction. KeyResponsibilities Strategic Leadership & Vision - Define andlead the data science and analytics strategy to support Bauer MediaAudio's growth across digital platforms, products, and commercialmodels. - Partner with senior stakeholders to identifyopportunities for data-driven decision-making across content,product, commercial, and operational teams. - Establish bestpractices and standards for analytics, experimentation,forecasting, and model development across the organisation. Leadand scale high-impact analytics across: - Audience Analytics &Portfolio Optimisation: Enhance engagement across our Audio assetssupporting strategic decisions around content mix and audiencedevelopment. - Product Analytics: Optimise digital productperformance through user journey analysis, feature tracking, andexperimentation. - Operations Research: Apply forecasting,optimisation, and simulation techniques to improve scheduling,resource allocation, and overall efficiency. - Revenue Management:Use advanced modelling to optimise pricing, yield, and inventoryacross advertising and commercial products. - ConsumerCompetitions: Drive performance of SMS-based radio competitionsthrough player segmentation outbound campaign optimisation andtargeting strategies. Team Management & Development - Manageand grow a diverse team of analysts and data scientists with variedspecialisations, ensuring skill development and strong performance.- Foster a collaborative and innovative culture, promotingknowledge sharing and experimentation across the team. - Act as amentor and coach to emerging talent, helping build long-term careerpaths within the organisation. Collaboration & StakeholderEngagement - Work closely with Heads of Data Engineering, and ourPrincipal Data Solutions Architect to ensure analytical initiativesare supported by robust, scalable data platforms and tools. -Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in Product,Marketing, Editorial, Technology, and Commercial teams across ourMarkets and central teams to turn business questions into datasolutions. - Communicate findings clearly and persuasively tosenior executives and non-technical stakeholders. - Collaboratewith our Transformation Program Manager ensuring our innovativedata products and solutions are aligned with our transformationstrategy and are adopted my our stkeholders. - Drive adoption ofadvanced analytics techniques including machine learning, A/Btesting, causal inference, and recommendation systems. - Championexperimentation frameworks and data literacy across businessfunctions. - Stay up to date with industry and academicdevelopments in data science, identifying opportunities toincorporate cutting-edge methods. Key Qualifications - 10+ years ofexperience in data science, analytics, or quantitative strategyroles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position. - Proventrack record of applying analytics in digital media, technology, orconsumer-focused organisations. - Strong knowledge of statisticalanalysis, machine learning, forecasting, and operations researchtechniques. - Deep expertise in product and digital analytics,including behavioural segmentation, funnel analysis,experimentation, and lifetime value modelling. - Experience withrevenue management, pricing strategy, or commercial optimisation ishighly desirable. - Proficiency in modern analytics tools andprogramming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, dbt, Looker, Tableau).- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills withthe ability to influence at all levels of the business. -Experience operating in a fast-paced, cross-functional, agileenvironment. - Passion for media, content, and digital innovation.About Bauer Media Group We are a media business focused on creatingcontent that matters to millions of people across Europe.
