Responsibilities / Position overview
The Head of Analytics is a high-level leadership role within the data science and advanced analytics team, responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and delivery of complex market research projects. This role involves leveraging expert-level knowledge of statistical modeling techniques to provide strategic insights and drive business outcomes.
The Head of Analytics will lead and mentor project teams, manage key client relationships, and ensure all projects adhere to compliance and regulatory standards. This position is pivotal in defining large-scale research projects, maintaining client satisfaction, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Lead the design and implementation of advanced statistical modeling and market research techniques, such as segmentation, demand assessment, choice-based modeling, statistical inference, and predictive modeling, contributing to the development of new analytics capabilities.
- Define, manage, and deliver large-scale research projects that address complex business challenges and generate revenue for clients, ensuring the seamless execution from design to delivery.
- Oversee day-to-day activities of project teams, ensuring effective management and timely development of key project deliverables while accurately defining project scope and ensuring profitability.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, actively joining Account Teams to manage challenging client expectations and drive repeat business.
- Provide mature coaching, mentoring, and delegation within the team, offering detailed and constructive feedback to support the professional development of junior staff members.
- Lead internal stakeholders and collaborators to accurately define project objectives, ensuring all team members are aligned and focused on delivering high-quality results.
- Proactively manage compliance with all client-specific and regulatory requirements, including Adverse Event Reporting and Data Protection, while following internal business processes related to Finance and HR.
- Act as a strategic partner within the organization, contributing to the overall growth and improvement of the advanced analytics function and supporting the achievement of the company's objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong degree (2:1) in any analytics-related field (e.g. statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering) subject and/or professional qualification.
- 5-10 years' experience in research or professional data science-driven services organization.
- 5 years' experience in research-based analytics/statistical project support role.
- 2-5 years Healthcare experience is preferable.
- Proficient Analytics Toolkit: R, SPSS, Excel, Git, Python, SQL & cloud computing expertise desirable.
- Consistently able to apply a range of research methods and demonstrate honed analytics skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid project management skills.
