Job Summary

We arecurrently seeking an experienced Advanced Process Control Engineerto join our Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) under the AssetsTechnical Solutions Department (ATSD). At GME we offer topnotchtechnical support to refineries NGLF and petrochemical plants ownedby This Company and its affiliates worldwide. As an APC expert yourmain responsibility will be to provide expert guidance and supportto optimize operations using Advanced Process Control technologiessuch as DMC3 PACE or Profit Suite. You will lead improvementinitiatives for all operating departments within our GlobalManufacturing Portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Streamline Advanced Process Control (APC)objectives with corporate goals and develop programs best practicesand monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance APC andeconomic performance.
  • Analyze data fromvarious sources including process variables instrumentation andcontrol systems to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop inferential models (linear and nonlinear) toenhance refinery operations efficiency and costreduction.
  • Implement APC strategies conductfeasibility studies and establish new business cases to optimizerefinery operations and maximize desired product yields.
  • Conduct pilots and evaluate new APC technologies such asRealTime optimization Machine Learning and AI to contribute toyield improvement.
  • Analyze chronic problemsand debottleneck complex APC to enhance process operations andeconomic benefits.
  • Provide subject matterexpertise to operating facilities Operations Maintenance andEngineering teams through consulting awareness sessions andparticipation in technical exchanges and conferences.
  • Lead technical sessions such as design reviews modelreviews and commissioning.
  • Conduct periodicassessments and evaluations to gauge the performance andeffectiveness of realtime optimization solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the optimization team (RealTimeoptimization engineers Simulation engineers and automationengineers) to ensure optimization requirements are met.
  • Lead preand postperformance baseline evaluations for APCtechnologies.
  • Monitor economic benefit KeyPerformance Indicators and provide recommendations.
  • Review standards and General Instructions on behalf ofthe GME departments and act as a leading Subject Matter Expert(SME).

Requirements:

  • This role required candidate topermanently relocate at Dhahran SaudiArabia.
  • Bachelors degree inChemical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related field isrequired.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience inAdvanced Process Control (APC).
  • Demonstratedexpertise in APC control systems and OPC communication.
  • Comprehensive understanding of refinery economics massand energy balances is essential.
  • Familiaritywith international standards and specifications for advancedprocess control.
  • Exceptional analytical andtroubleshooting skills in the field of advanced processcontrol.
  • Strong leadership skills toeffectively manage technical discussions and guide technicalteams.
  • Working knowledge of oil/gasrelatedplant processes is preferred.
