Running our Workforce Capacity as a business within our business. You will be responsible for everything linked to attracting, assessing, recruiting, training, developing, and retaining the great talent we need to unlock rapid, quality growth.Setting our long-term talent attraction and skills strategy - including multi-year budget allocation.Working with cross-functional leadership (Operations, Finance, Tech & Product, Marketing) to deliver against the requirements of the wider organisation.Managing a large multi-skilled organisation - challenging everyone to think big, test new approaches, and move fast.Owning market analysis to understand the availability of labour (now and projected) in order to build a sustainable pipeline of skilled and unskilled talent to meet our long-term growth objectives.Building the physical infrastructure to deliver a nationwide skills academy which meets the needs of the business - continuously developing to anticipate and address future skills gaps.Create and drive the vision to position Octopus as a leading skills provider in the UK and creating brilliant skills opportunities for people across a diverse range of backgrounds (particularly backgrounds which are underrepresented in today’s electrician and heating labour markets).Developing a compelling employee value proposition that reflects the elements that attract great talent to working with Octopus (including compensation framework, benefits offering, training, and development opportunities).Working with the Data Science team to continually iterate and improve our supply and training forecasting tools.Working with tech and product, as well as external suppliers, to identify and build the systems and tooling to make this organisation scale effectively.

What you'll need...

Experience of running large, multi-functional teams (familiarity with field-based / remote organisations is a plus).Experience working in a hyper-growth, tech-enabled environment - with hands-on experience working closely with tech and product development.Experience managing teams in the development and delivery of successful large-scale campaigns.Experience in managing large real estate projects including sourcing and operationalising large sites.Experience in the development and delivery of multi-functional operations teams.A track record of working within complex regulatory environments and developing scalable processes which adhere to compliance standards.The ability to synthesise complex analysis (often with missing or imperfect information) to enable teams to define the best route forward.A passion for prioritisation to drive the greatest impact for the organisation.Comfort with getting up to speed on technical issues and complex products. This role will manage a large group of technical specialists - without necessarily having that background yourself.
