Immunocore are looking to recruit a Data Scientist apprentice. Working within the Enterprise systems team, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing systems and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.


Qualification Requirements

  • Grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics or equivalent, Grade 4 in GCSE English Language or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 A‑Levels, including a B in Science and Maths. A‑Levels in Citizenship Skills, General Studies, and Critical Thinking are not accepted.
  • Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship with Distinction.

Salary - £22,000 per annum

Duration – 43 months


Start Date – August 2026


Interview Date – March/April 2026

Job Description

This role will support the Enterprise systems team within IT. The Enterprise systems team is a global team, responsible for overseeing and optimizing systems and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across the organization. The role also involves cross‑functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to implement and optimise systems that support the business.


Job Responsibilities



  • Bring digital and data analytics methodologies together with industry best practice to actively support the Enterprise systems team and the broader IT function within the business, aiming to build a digital transformation framework and enhance data literacy across the business.
  • Potentially work in other teams within Immunocore, such as bioinformatics and protein engineering (research). During the apprenticeship, you will also have opportunities for on‑the‑job learning.
  • Study part‑time at the University of Nottingham for a fully funded BSc (Hons) Data Science.

Candidate Requirements

  • Hard‑working with the ability to manage own time to meet deadlines.
  • Good team player with ability to interact with others and manage a varied workload.
  • Hypothesis‑driven approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to learn and develop online tools to source, combine, transform, and store data.
  • Good attention to detail and aptitude to handle and store data.
  • Ability to summarise and succinctly measure project outputs.
  • Good report writing and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to apply learning from prior experience to new situations and problems.
  • Ability to evaluate information from a broad range of sources.
  • Communicates with clarity, purpose and efficiency.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to follow instructions and operate in a controlled environment adhering to procedures for safety, environment, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of programming skills e.g. Python (nice to have – not a requirement).
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Interest in research, science and technology; A‑level studies to include at least one science subject.

Training Provider: Nottingham University


Delivery model: Block release at Nottingham University

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be eligible to apply for other positions within the business.
