About the role – Full Stack Engineer:

At Feefo, we are driven by the power of reviews. Handling thousands of reviews for numerous brands daily requires our software to be exceptionally performant, scalable, and resilient.



We are on the lookout for a seasoned Full Stack Engineer with a passion for creating a best-in-class experience for our leading SaaS product.



As a Full Stack Engineer at Feefo, you will work within a development squad guided by a Tech Lead Engineer, who provides technical direction and ensures adherence to the highest coding standards and practices for software excellence.



Responsibilities:


Full Stack Engineers work within an agile squad, adhering to the team's agile methodologies and development principles, translating requirements into performant and scalable solutions, always striving for continuous improvement. You will also be responsible for:


  • Developing and maintaining scalable and robust Java-based applications, with an emphasis on microservices architecture and Spring Boot.
  • Implementing and integrating RESTful APIs, working in tandem with the front-end.
  • Proficiency in front-end development using modern JavaScript frameworks, notably React (inclusive of Redux, Styled Components, and TypeScript).
  • Providing ongoing software support, regular maintenance, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Writing and maintaining unit tests, practicing Test-Driven Development (TDD) to ensure code quality and functionality.
  • Crafting and maintaining technical documentation, both through inline code comments and knowledge sharing documents.
  • Collaborating closely with the Cloud Infrastructure Team, sharing responsibilities for DevOps functions such as configuration management, continuous integration (CI), and monitoring.
  • Embracing a product mindset, understanding the importance of SaaS experience to drive product success.
  • Advocating for and implementing QA automation practices, including the use of tools such as Cypress.


EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

  • 3-5 years of commercial experience in Service side (Java) and the ambition and determination to master Front-end (REACT).
  • You should be a team player and able to collaborate with colleagues across teams, identifying areas for continual improvement.

Server side

  • 3-5 years of commercial development experience in Java, with a strong focus on microservices, preferably using Spring Boot – docker, Kubernetes
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and server-side development.
  • Experience with relational/SQL and No-SQL databases.

Front end

  • Modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably REACT (our stack is React, Redux, Styled Components and TypeScript)

Desirable

  • Experience within cloud-based services, ideally Google Cloud Platform is beneficial.
  • SaaS experience
  • Experience with building high throughput APIs
  • Experience with Cypress or similar testing automation tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline.
