We are searching for an experienced and autonomous hands-on Finance Manager to join a fast-growing deep tech scale up on a 12 month FTC with potential to go perm. This start up is at a super exciting stage and the Finance Manager will be responsible for running the day-to-day finance function, including the financial planning, analysis and reporting. You will be working directly with the CEO at a critical phase for the business. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with required accounting practices
  • Financial planning, analysis and reporting for the company
  • Preparation of monthly and annual financial documents
  • Improving and refining financial operations of a fast-growing organisation
  • Producing month end, accounts reconciliations, expenses and accruals and management accounts
  • Working with the Sales team on reporting and forecasting
  • Creating, maintaining and administering company budgets
  • Financial administration of the company
  • Payroll, pension and employees travel & expense reimbursement
  • Conduct reconciliation of the company's bank accounts and credit card activities
  • Preparing purchase orders in accordance with requests for materials
  • Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function: including reviewing, coding, and administering payments
  • Preparing payments file each week for supplier goods and services
  • Preparing Quarterly VAT returns (Xero)

 

Experience:

  • ACCA qualified
  • Top 10 Accountancy Firm experience preferred
  • Be a competent and experienced user of Xero accounting software
  • Strong experience with FP&A
  • Strong experience of financial reporting, accounting principles (UK GAAP/IFRS) and tax compliance
  • Strong knowledge of cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and modelling
  • Ability to review commercial contracts
  • Comfortable working with senior leadership and external Accountants
  • Have experience using Google Sheets, Excel and have generally strong IT skills
  • Maintain strong team working and interpersonal skills, with the ability to be flexible and adaptable within the environment of a small and changing team
  • Be a methodical process-driven person, with passion for accuracy and excellence
  • Be a proactive, self-motivated individual capable of working on their own initiative in a constantly changing and pressurised environment and fast-developing company
  • Start up/Scale up experience strongly preferred
  • Have worked alone or within a very small team, able to be autonomous and hit the ground running
  • Able to identify improvement opportunities, suggest improvements and action change
  • Strong attention to detail
