Embedded Software Engineer - £60k – Stevenage

Hexwired has partnered with an incredibly exciting electronics company that is seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer to join their innovative team. With a focus on firmware development and embedded systems, this role involves exciting and innovative technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain embedded software using C, with a focus on firmware applications.

  • Manage the full software development life cycle from conception to deployment.

  • Work with microcontrollers/microprocessors, preferably AT90CAN or ARM Cortex-M3/SAM3X8E, using IDEs like ATMEL/Microchip Studio.

  • Utilize debugging and testing methods to ensure software quality.

  • Create high-quality software documentation and mentor graduate or placement students.

    Key Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in C programming, preferably in firmware or embedded environments.

  • Familiarity with version control (Bitbucket) and bug tracking (JIRA) tools.

  • Strong knowledge of electronics/hardware and MS Office suite.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with C++ and object-oriented design.

  • Knowledge of CAN and LINBus communication protocols and bootloader implementation.

  • Exposure to GCC, Eclipse, GUI development, or control theory is a plus.
