Embedded Software Engineer

Leeds City Centre

£45,000 - £55,000


KO2's client, an exciting and fast-paced start-up based in Leeds City Centre, is seeking an experiencedEmbedded Software Engineerto join their growing team. This innovative company, founded by a group of experts with backgrounds at Leonardo, BAE, and NATO, is revolutionizing the security of IoT devices. They’ve secured over £1 million in pre-seed investment from Techstars London and are well on their way to their next big funding round.


The founders bring a unique mix of defence, threat intelligence, and engineering experience, and their cutting-edge platform offers an all-encompassing solution that provides security insights across Linux and RTOS devices. Using machine learning, the platform analyses and profiles issues, giving customers real-time insights into their device estate. Now, KO2's client is looking to expand its team by adding a skilledEmbedded Software Engineer.


Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and write embedded software libraries to be integrated into customer firmware.
  • Work with real-time operating systems (RTOS), particularly Zephyr or Nordic chipsets.
  • Build tools for log collection, observability, and offloading, ensuring seamless integration into customer tech stacks.


Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience as anEmbedded Software Engineer.
  • Strong background in RTOS development – FreeRTOS, Zephyr etc
  • Proficiency in embedded C, with a focus on creating fast, reliable software.
  • Experience working with a large code base
  • Knowledge or experience with a Linux environment
