Are you ready to lead data strategy for an innovative, fast-growing company in the travel tech sector? We’re seeking an experienced Director of Data to drive our client's data capabilities forward. This role will be instrumental in developing a data strategy, centralizing and advancing data functions, and leading a high-performing team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers. Develop and implement a data strategy that supports the company's objectives and enhances data quality, consistency, and accessibility. Lead the centralization of data capabilities across functions, advocating for a data-driven culture. Collaborate closely with senior leadership to ensure data insights drive business growth. Data Management and Governance Establish frameworks and policies to ensure data security, quality, and compliance. Oversee data integration and ensure a single source of truth, implementing best practices for data management to make information more accessible and useful across the organization. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists, analysts, and data engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Set clear goals and performance expectations for the team, supporting continuous learning and professional development across different locations. Leverage advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI to provide actionable insights, predictive models, and strategic recommendations. Collaborate with business leaders to develop KPIs and dashboards using tools like Looker and Power BI to monitor and optimize business performance. Assess and implement data tools and technologies, including Databricks on AWS, to ensure a reliable and scalable data infrastructure. Stay current with industry trends to drive innovation and maintain the highest standards of data reliability. Partner with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to align data initiatives with business goals. Communicate data insights and strategies to non-technical stakeholders, driving cross-functional projects that leverage data to meet business objectives. 10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related fields, with a proven track record of leading data-driven teams and initiatives. ~ Strong knowledge of data management, governance, and analytics tools, including Databricks on AWS, Looker, and Power BI. ~ Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ~ Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into data strategies, along with experience managing hybrid and geographically distributed teams.
