Role Overview

The Executive Director of Business Development will play a crucial role in expanding the company’s market reach by identifying new business opportunities, fostering strategic relationships, and driving revenue growth. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and R&D, to ensure seamless execution of go-to-market strategies and the successful adoption of new solutions across the life sciences community.


Key Responsibilities

  • Go-to-Market Leadership:Develop and execute strategies to ensure successful market entry and adoption of the company’s flagship product.
  • Market Insights:Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, potential applications, and growth opportunities within the life sciences sector.
  • Client and Partner Engagement:Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry players to enhance the company’s visibility and expand its customer base.
  • Business Development:Drive lead generation, explore partnership opportunities, and contribute to the creation of new revenue streams.
  • Sales Support:Collaborate with the sales team to close high-value deals by providing market insights and addressing client needs.
  • Product Innovation:Work closely with the R&D team to identify and prioritise new applications based on market feedback.

Key Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in business development or commercial roles within the life sciences sector.
  • Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field; a PhD is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of identifying market opportunities and building strategic partnerships in the biotech industry.
  • Established network in areas such as Process Development, Gene and Cell Therapy, and large molecule modalities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong client-centric approach.
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to translate market insights into actionable business strategies.
