To support the community dietetic department in the delivery of the domiciliary nutritional support service. This will be done by providing defined and delegated aspects of nutritional care under the direction of a qualified dietitian and by undertaking a range of defined support functions.

What we'll need you to bring- SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have- Previous experience in health care assistant role and/or in primary care
- Experience of working in healthcare both outpatient & inpatients where adult patients may have acute +/- chronic conditions both medical / surgical areas
- Experience of supportive role in nutrition and diet advice to patients or clients
- Basic technical skills in nutrition or willingness and ability to learn
- Ability to work as a member of a team and understanding of limitations of own role within it.
- Flexible to suit needs of the servics
Fixed Term or Secondment for 12 months

Please note this is a fixed term for 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
This role will be based in Nutrition and Dietetics within University Hospital Hairmyres
