Job overview

An opportunity has arisen to join the Children’s Services Directorate for Essex and Kent as the Deputy Director for NELFT Kent Services . The candidate will have a key role working closely with the Service Director with the relevant system partnerships, specifically focusing on Provider Collaborative relationships and related workstreams. The post holder will be responsible for operational day to day management of the Kent portfolio and will work closely with clinical and operational colleagues in the established leadership team.

The Deputy Director will be required to work with the ICB and system partners, supporting the Trust’s vision in developing and transforming Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Services to ensure the very best system of care is provided through creative partnerships with patients, carers and staff and with a focus on clinical model, quality and safety of the services provided.

Main duties of the job

You will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills and experience of working at a senior level understanding performance, quality improvement and the ability to manage a range of complex services. In addition, you will be a decision maker and be able to motivate colleagues across the system to deliver the highest quality services.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
