Job description
The Fixed Connectivity Next Generation Communications Network (NGCN) team is an exciting Defence Digital (DD) transformation programme evolving MOD�s current fixed networks to meet the needs of a modern Defence force. As one of the Government�s largest IT transformation programmes, NGCN will enhance MOD�s existing network infrastructure with an agile, adaptable, foundation network with the ability to continually scale and adapt to dynamic demand in reach and volume across Defence sites globally.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
Develop digital skills in a complex and interesting environment. Work closely with Defence suppliers to strategically plan and implement changes to provide a secure and resilient environment. Develop and execute a migration plan for existing services to transform in alignment with the Digital Strategy for Defence. Develop strong stakeholder management and engagement skills, building positive working relationships in support of delivery.
As a Delivery Manager you will be responsible for managing and coordinating a team to deliver products and services against a delivery schedule, ensuring that high levels of performance are maintained.� �You will be accountable for the performance of your team ensuring that members are motivated and inspired, with the ability to confidently deal with emerging issues.
You will build and maintain positive ways of working, taking a flexible and agile approach, whilst confidently engaging with technical and business stakeholders to effectively manage requirements, expectations and processes in support of delivery.� The Delivery Manager role will play a key role in the team�s capability to deliver critical Defence Digital outputs.
Due to security and information access restriction, the role is only open to a sole BRITISH national.
Strategic Command is going through a significant transformation programme which aims to improve the way the Command conducts its business and delivers for Defence and the nation. As a consequence of this, all posts within Strategic Command Headquarters and in time the wider organisation, are/will be subject to review and potential changes as we continuously improve across the period of the transformation programme. These changes may be minor or could be more substantive and will generate new opportunities.� Throughout, the Command�s transformation programme is committed to following the MOD�s framework on managing and supporting people through the change process and places an emphasis on early and open consultation and engagement with the Command�s personnel and Trade Unions.
Person specification
We are looking for someone who:
Will be accountable for the delivery of complex change to deliver enhancements to the MOD Core Network. Can deliver security and resilience benefits using a Secure by Design Approach. Will enable reduction in network running costs by providing an appropriate migration service. Will lead the development and execution of a Design and Implementation Plan. Will manage and coordinate people, processes and network services. Will create, influence and manage stakeholder relationships.
