Overview

Data Scientist role at IQVIA within Real-World Solutions (RWS) under Real-world evidence Data Standardization and Analytics. IQVIA has adopted OMOP/OHDSI for real-world evidence (RWE). Data are converted into the OMOP Common Data Model to enable interoperable and sharable queries and analytics. This role involves developing code for descriptive statistics or hypothesis testing when direct data access to all assets is not available, enabling insights across multiple datasets within a collaborators network.

The Team
IQVIA Data Standardization and Analytics delivers globally scalable projects by analyzing patient-level healthcare datasets to understand treatment patterns and outcomes. The team curates a large collection of de-identified Real-World Data in the OMOP CDM, enabling scalable health data analysis.

Location and sponsorship
This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship. Minimal travel may be required to other IQVIA offices or to attend conferences and workshops. Home-based arrangement available.

Responsibilities
  • Design & develop analytical packages in R & SQL to extract real-world evidence from OMOP healthcare databases.
  • Translate detailed research specifications into documented instructions, debug routine queries, and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Contribute to client consultation on study ideation, study design and results interpretation.
  • Support protocol & report writing.
  • Execute retrospective analytical packages as part of OHDSI and other OMOP-based network initiatives.
  • Collaborate with OMOP data scientists and other team members across DSAE.
  • Support Senior Data Scientists and other technical experts in building the team\'s subject matter expertise with regards to the OMOP common data model.
  • Collaborate with OHDSI community members, participate in community activities such as study projects and code development.
  • Support customer-focused training sessions and tutorials as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Essential (candidates must have these): R programming (minimum 18 months).
  • Analytical / quantitative research background (preference for big data).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Nice to have: Pharmaco-epidemiology or RWE background (or relevant clinical or life science experience); Masters or PhD in a relevant quantitative field.
  • OMOP experience; SQL programming; Consulting experience; AI / ML experience; Shiny dashboard experience.
  • Pharmaceutical/healthcare data analytics exposure preferred.
