Data Scientist | Population & Location Insight

6 months - Inside IR35

Hybrid - Onsite In London (Bi-weekly)

Are you the kind of Data Scientist who enjoys turning complex, messy datasets into clear, useful insight? Do you like asking the awkward questions that actually matter? Perfect, you’ll fit right in.

We’re looking for a Data Scientist to support strategic planning by analysing how changing population characteristics affect service locations, attendance, and operational models.

You’ll be exploring things like:

  • How shifts in population density and demographics impact the need for fixed and mobile service locations
  • Whether geographical factors influence attendance and non-attendance
  • The real-world strengths and limitations of different batching models
  • This role is about practical impact, not vanity dashboards.

What you’ll be doing

  • Exploring and analysing large datasets to uncover trends and patterns
  • Cleaning, preparing and visualising data to support decisions
  • Building clear, simple models that help operational teams plan more effectively
  • Working closely with stakeholders to turn analysis into action

Key technical skills

  • Strong experience with Python, Pandas and SQL
  • Confident with data wrangling, exploration and visualisation
  • Experience with business intelligence tools

What we’re looking for

  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and comfortable sharing ideas
  • Logical, objective and calm when things are a bit unclear
  • A genuine interest in learning and helping others grow
  • Comfortable working in Agile delivery environments

This is the kind of role where your work directly influences real-world decisions, without the noise of big corporate theatre. If you like meaningful challenges, collaborative working and solving problems that actually matter, you’ll enjoy this.

Writing an AI CV for the UK market is about clarity, credibility, and alignment. Recruiters spend seconds scanning the top third of your CV, while Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) check for relevant skills & recent impact. You’ll get a clean CV anatomy, a phrase bank for measurable bullets, GitHub & portfolio tips, and three copy-ready UK examples (junior, mid, research). Paste the structure, replace the details, and tailor to each job ad.
