🌱 Data Scientist – Climate Tech | Time-Series Forecasting & Power Trading | London Hybrid | £Competitive + Equity

I'm working with a climate tech startup that's helping to reshape how the energy grid works. They're hiring a data scientist to focus on time-series forecasting and work closely with a new quant team that's building out a power trading desk.

This isn’t a research role. Their platform already controls tens of thousands of real-world assets like EVs, heat pumps, and batteries. The models you build will go into production and directly influence energy usage and trading decisions.

Why this role might be a good fit:

  • You'll own forecasting models
  • You'll work side by side with quants and engineers on a brand-new trading desk
  • Your work will have a direct impact on carbon reduction and system efficiency
  • It’s a small, focused team where you’ll have room to take initiative and make things happen

The role is hybrid, with 2–3 days a week in the London office

Tech stack includes Python, Streamlit, Docker, GCP, and Figma

What they’re looking for:

  • Solid Python skills and experience writing production-quality code
  • Comfortable working with time-series data and forecasting problems
  • Interest in the energy sector and/or power markets
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work across teams
  • Bonus if you’ve worked in energy trading or have experience in a quant or client-facing environment

If you're excited about forecasting, energy systems, and seeing your work go live in the real world, this is a great place to do it.
