Full time: 35 hours per week

Open-ended

Childlight, a global child safety institute, is looking for a Data Scientist to ensure that our data, research and analysis is accurate and robust. Your goal will be to support research into understanding the prevalence of child sexual exploitation and abuse around the world, so that policy makers and practitioners can make better informed prevention and response decisions.

The Opportunity:

You will have expertise using a variety of data science tools and methods, such as machine learning, data mining, statistical analysis, or similar techniques. You will play a key role in harnessing large-scale data sets, such as administrative records or web data. The outputs of your work will inform Childlight’s Searchlight report and Into the Light global index. 

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.

This post is open-ended with a review date of 30 April 2028.

Your skills and attributes for success: 

Experience of turning data into insight and action Experience in a variety of data science tools and techniques Experience of working with large-scale data, ideally in the child protection system  Experience of gathering, analysing and presenting complex information to a senior audience Experience of building relationships across a diverse stakeholder environment  A passion for making the world a better place and preventing CSEA, improving services and safeguarding children
