About the role

We are looking for a versatile Pricing manager to lead a team of data scientists and analysts to deliver business and customer value through the use of cutting-edge techniques. Spotting opportunities and working across multiple areas of the business to help us deliver the key business goals. This person will have the ability to manage a team of highly technical individuals, as well as strategically deliver business projects across areas such as pricing optimisation, model performance evaluation, pricing related business indicators and adhoc analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key contributor to the pricing strategy across multiple business areas.
  • Lead a team of data scientists and analysts to achieve the business’ objectives across multiple use cases such as pricing optimisation, models and analysis.
  • Influence the evolution and continuous improvement of the company’s predictive modelling and machine learning techniques to deliver high impact solutions.
  • Work as part of companywide collaborative squads, ensuring data driven decisions, with the use of predictive analytics.
  • Be able to analyse, communicate and explain data science use across multiple projects in a way that will influence key stakeholders from across the business.
  • Where necessary, monitor performance, profitability, and competitor behaviour to help hit business targets.
  • Ensure that recommendations result in customers being treated fairly.
  • Be an advocate for data driven decisions and decision science across internal and external stakeholders, being a thought leader for decision science.

Requirements

  • Excellent relationship management.
  • Innovative and pragmatic problem solver.
  • Find opportunities to enhance the business through data and data science practices.
  • In-depth statistical skills, with the ability to criticise, review and sign-off models to then be deployed live.
  • Ability to translate between both technical and non-technical colleagues and become a bridge between more traditional areas of business, driving them to be more sophisticated.
  • Understanding and ability to actively implement statistical tests and analyses, scripting, and automation techniques for efficient model implementations.
  • Use of AWS or Databricks to help guide the team in building pipelines and models for data science, ensuring best practices.
  • Excellent at data wrangling and ability to analyse data where required.
  • Ability to understand multiple domains and how to implement data science into them.
  • Strong understanding of domains such as pricing and statistics as well as the key drivers of performance within the financial services sector.
  • Proficient in Machine Learning models.
  • Experience managing teams.
