About our Growth & Marketing Data Team

As we continue to scale we’re looking for a Data Science Manager to lead one of our key Growth areas – Marketing.


In this role you’ll collaborate with our award‑winning Marketing team and lead a dedicated data team to help execute Monzo’s marketing strategy. You’ll be responsible for building and improving our current capabilities while shaping the future roadmap. We’re looking for a hands‑on and data‑driven strategic leader who can bring fresh thinking and inspire both the team and our customers.


You’ll play a key role by

You’ll work closely with leaders across Brand Paid and Content championing the use of data to drive ideas, measurement, optimisation and learning through a rigorous analytical approach.


Your day‑to‑day

  • Be a key leader in building a discipline of exceptional data scientists and analysts
  • Hire, develop and retain talented data professionals
  • Generate insights that can change the direction of our growth and marketing strategy
  • Bring data leadership and rigour to our approach to product development. Build a strategic understanding of the business and structure complex projects to bring them to life
  • Liaise with marketing product and engineering managers to ensure we collect the right data for meaningful business insights

  • You have at least 4 years of experience as a Data Science Manager managing a data team larger than 5 people
  • You are a strong strategic data leader and love to drive decisions
  • You have strong experience working with executive or C‑level peers managing stakeholders across levels of seniority and disciplines, especially in a tech organisation
  • You’re excited by the opportunity to work autonomously to impact the future of a fast‑growing, ever‑evolving business
  • You’re familiar with using a variety of Data Science tools (from business intelligence experimentation and causal inference through to machine learning) and coding languages (Python and SQL). You know when to pick the right tool and can help others do the same
  • You have experience with Marketing Mix Modelling and other measurement approaches
  • You’re familiar with marketing and advertising datasets from platforms such as Facebook and Google

The Interview Process

Our interview process involves three main stages. We promise not to ask you any brain teasers or trick questions!



  • 30‑minute recruiter call
  • 45‑minute call with the hiring manager
  • Three 1‑hour video calls with team members
