We are expanding our work on data analytics, to leverage data, and to provide insights for our private equity and corporate clients. We work collaboratively with all parts of Simon-Kucher, and you will have the opportunity to work on projects including market reviews, revenue growth, pricing, marketing efficiency and digital strategy. How you will create impact: Working alongside other data engineer experts you'll have the opportunity to help our clients to answer their most challenging questions through the analysis of data With the guidance of Experienced Consultants & Managers, you'll take responsibility for certain work areas or workstreams Develop new and existing data models and reporting solutions Develop new and existing ETL processes and data pipelines Working with project teams and other stakeholders, identify and implement improvements or identify new requirements Translate business/commercial requirements into robust technical solutions Create and maintain accurate documentation of data models and processes Work on cross-border projects with other Simon-Kucher offices around the world Work with clients’ data security and privacy requirements to ensure compliance to GDPR Broader engagement with the development of the team and market activities, supporting in business development, recruitment, marketing and in the early stages You will be part of the consulting project team, providing the chance to learn lots and work with many different clients in many different sectors We are looking for internship candidates who are interested in learning more about a career in commercial strategy consulting. We have entry level Data Engineer positions available for top performing interns upon completion of the internship. You must be graduated to be eligible to apply. Your profile: Degree in a quantitative field, such as computer science, engineering, statistics, operational research, data science, or equivalent experience (we expect you to be tracking a 2:1 or higher) Deep knowledge of data importing, exporting, visualisation and feature engineering Strong programming skills including an understanding of developing dashboards in one or ore of the following platforms: Tableau (preferred), Qlik or PowerBI Proficient to advanced skills with MS Office Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey complex data insights High percentile numerical, deductive and inductive reasoning skills A strong desire to work in a fast paced commercially agile environment A keen interest in commercial strategy and a desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Strong enthusiasm, curiosity, and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes We offer internships to candidates from a variety of undergraduate subject backgrounds, though it is more common for Data Engineer Interns to have a STEM or computer science subject background – what you bring with you enables you to thrive and helps us to continue to grow. What we offer: Internships within the Data Engineer team usually last around 8 weeks and are designed to expose individuals to working on client projects. Interns can expect responsibility from the outset as a valued member of the project team.
