A great opportunity to join a highly successful and ambitious fast growing company A varied role, working on a range of projects that will support the business strategy for growth globally A full time position based in London , working within a small, fun and collaborative team Role overview We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work within the MI and Analytics Team and closely alongside our Underwriting/Operations Teams to play a critical role in our evolving eco-system. This role will support our business through comprehensive requirements analysis; detailed and accurate preparation of varying data; identification, analysis and interpretation of patterns in complex datasets and creation of compelling, creative and informative visualisation that supports decision-making and will the business and their carriers and partners. The ideal candidate will have a computing and/or data science-related background, be driven and looking for the next step in their career, wanting to build on their foundational experience in data analytics to become a true practitioner. You will be confident in working with a variety of data sources as well as being able to adapt for technical and non-technical audiences. As a growing, dynamic, and fast-paced company this role will suit someone who is looking to make an impact, and develop and shape a data analytics proposition. Data Analysts are required to possess a range of finely-tuned data skills (data querying, data manipulation, data verification and visualisation), superb attention to detail as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. We are committed to nurturing talent; to this end success in this role could lead to a transition into a range of other technical data or consulting-focused roles within the businesses or wider group. Role responsibilities Design and implementation of reports in Power BI Providing user-friendly reports and dashboards and continuously improve them Proactively collaborate within the team and business stakeholders Error analysis and testing of data consistency and data quality, as well as corresponding documentation Contact person for user support (Operation requests) Key requirements Previous success in a data-driven role with proven ability in using Excel and/or business intelligence to at least an intermediate level Good Power BI knowledge and the Power BI Stack Strong SQL skills (data extraction and enrichment using advanced functions) Solid foundational understanding of relational databases Data quality and data exceptions handling Familiarity using Salesforce, specifically Industries and Financial Force is a plus though not essential Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong time management skills and a demonstrable ability to plan & work on multiple projects with differing timescales Able to articulate complex ideas, debate them and agree them as part of a team Key skills Analytically minded with ability to think critically and adapt one’s own approach Passionate for delivering work at a high standard, with a demonstrable attention to detail Honest and supportive relationship building to develop trust with stakeholders Dedicated and diligent with a proven track record of taking ownership of work A strong desire to progress and proactive approach to learning Highly resourceful individual who is able to work independently in a fast paced environment Who we’re looking for At Howden we value diversity - there is no one Howden ‘personality type’.
