We constantly collect the most detailed sports data to enhance a wide range of sports competitions, from tennis to soccer to basketball and more. Stats Perform is the knowledge bank behind it all.

Stats Perform is seeking aData Analystto join our team. This is a fulltime position to be based in one of our hybrid office locations. 

In this role, you will be part of our multidisciplinary team, you will help drive the development and adoption of advanced sport metrics, primarily in football. The Data Analyst team plays a key role in helping make new insights accessible to fans and clients by creating applications, data reports, visualizations, and content across multiple sports. 

These metrics are then integrated into Opta’s feeds and products, serving a range of clients across the media and professional sports industry. 

This role gives you the opportunity to directly shape how sports data is used by major broadcasters, media outlets, and professional clubs worldwide. If you’re passionate about working at the forefront of sports analytics, we’d love to hear from you! 

Responsibilities: 

Respond to daily ad-hoc data requests from internal teams and clients.  Design compelling data visualizations for use in the media.  Educate internal and external teams on new Stats Perform outputs.  Provide critical feedback to the AI team as the first users of their models.  Create and support content for the .  Develop tools (., Shiny, Flask) to enhance access to Stats Performs AI models.  Conduct ad-hoc analysis projects for media and professional sports clients. 

Required Qualifications: 

Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.  Experience with data analysis and presenting insights through visualizations.  Proficiency in a coding language (preferably Python and/or R).  Experience using football data, either professionally or as a hobby.  Ability to showcase existing work with sports data (., code repo or social media).  An in-depth understanding of football and it’s applications in data-driven analysis. 

Desired Qualifications: 

Experience working at a professional sports club or in the sports data industry.  Experience querying databases (., SQL)  Experience working with AWS technologies (., S3, Redshift)  Experience automating code execution (., Apache Airflow, AWS Lambdas)  Ability to speak multiple languages.  Knowledge of other sports beyond football.
