Software Development: Game Development Faculty of Design, Informatics and Business Grade 7 (£37,999 - £45,163) Full-Time, Fixed-Term, contract (flexible working options available) The role: We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our newly formed CoSTAR Research and Innovation team working at Abertay University, but with significant working time at the National Lab. Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and our collaborative creative R&D with industry. You will be part of a creative, inclusive and dynamic environment, working with the CoSTAR research teams across all the partners of the National Lab as well as with industry collaborators. The team will be developing applications in areas such as games & 3D development; AI & Machine Learning; immersive experiences; advanced production technologies e.G. Virtual Production, Extended Reality; Immersive and Live entertainment. In this hands-on position, you will be comfortable working collaboratively using agile methods as part of a multidisciplinary innovation team focused on developing a range of pilots, prototypes and software capabilities. You will get the chance to work with a range of Creative Technologists, Designers, research producers, as well as to collaborate with external companies. You will be part of a busy and dynamic environment and may be asked to contribute to other research & development activities across the partner institutions of the CoSTAR National Lab. What you will be doing (see job description for full details): Working with Abertay and CoSTAR staff and partners to develop effective software and tools to produce prototypes in areas related to emerging creative technologies. You will be developing applications in areas such as AI & Machine Learning; games & 3D development; immersive experiences such as augmented and virtual reality; advanced production technologies such as Virtual Production, Extended Reality; Immersive and Live entertainment. As a Software Developer in our team, you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary innovation team focused on ensuring high quality code is delivered in line with project goals and delivery cycles. You will get the chance to work with a range of content creators, creative technologists, designers, research producers, academic and industry experts as well as to collaborate with external companies.
