We are working with a fast growing and highly innovative beverage business to hire an experienced Interim Commercial Finance Specialist to help drive their growth. Key Responsibilities:

Promotional Management and Optimisation

• Create and manage a promotional databank: Develop a comprehensive database of historical promotions (June 2024 - budget 2025) and streamline the process to capture real-time performance data going forward.
• Embed promotional analysis tools: Implement Excel-based tools for the sales team, feeding insights into monthly performance reviews.
• In-depth customer analytics: Design and implement tools to analyse customer performance by store type and promotion type (e.g. secondary space vs shelf). Use insights to improve ROI metrics and collaborate with our data scientist to transition this work into Tableau.
• ELM Data Integration: Build a process to upload promotional data into the ELM system (see program: getelm.co).
• Scenario forecasting: Collaborate with the data scientist to develop a scenario forecasting tool to support sales team decision-making.
• Promotion tracking: Create a mechanism to monitor and assess the category's use of promotions and their effectiveness.

Joint Business Plans (JBPs)

• Support JBP creation: Design templates and provide scenario planning support to the sales team, identifying essential and desirable elements for successful business partnerships.
• Financial modelling: Assist with customer margin reviews versus margins, analysing year-on-year growth and profitability.

Standard COGS Reporting

• Develop COGS reporting tools: Create a standardised Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reporting system in Excel and Tableau, enabling dynamic adjustments throughout the year.
• Performance reviews: Update the performance review template to include COGS metrics, highlighting price variance between budget and actuals.
• Tableau integration: Collaborate with the data scientist to transition COGS reporting into Tableau for efficient and streamlined analysis.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience in commercial finance roles, preferably within FMCG or retail sectors
• Proficient in Excel, data analysis, and promotional performance tracking
• Experience with Tableau and tools like ELM preferred
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams, especially sales and data science
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter with excellent communication skills and a strategic mindset
