Job summary

UCLH is seeking a full time permanent Cogito Reports Manager to join the Business Intelligence Reports team.

The post holder is a senior manager in the reports team, acting as a technical expert for the business intelligence products that the team produces and leading on some BI policy areas. The post holder leads the production of accurate, timely and meaningful business intelligence reports to support decision-making across the entire trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be:

o Responsible for the Trust's Cogito and business intelligence delivery products managed within the Trust's electronic health record system Epico Responsible for other core business intelligence delivery products (such as visualisation tools and benchmarking)o Responsible for operational delivery of the business intelligence reporting governance and prioritisation frameworko Accountable for BI delivery products, external submissions and data management for RNOH as part of the Connect programmeo Accountable for in-Epic BI tools at RNOH as part of the Connect programmeo To lead on the development of complex and sophisticated as well as regular management information reports that support management decision-making, performance, planning and evaluation.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential

Masters degree level or equivalent professional experience within a healthcare information environment Advanced understanding of acute activity recording and reporting, including: waiting lists, A&E, cancelled operations, SUS Expert understanding of business intelligence reporting, information analysis and interpretation within acute hospitals

Experience

Essential

Senior leadership experience in information management role in an NHS or other healthcare environment (doctorate level or equivalent) Proven experience of working with relational databases Proven experience of using Microsoft BI stack, including SQL Server, Power BI, MS Excel, MS Access Proven track record of delivery at a senior level in a large complex service focused organisation, including staff management, change management, and performance management Experience of using Epic BI stack, including developing Radar, Slicer Diver, Reporting Workbench contents

Skills and Abilities

Detailed and deep knowledge of information analysis and the use of information across the NHS acquired through degree or equivalent experience Highly specialist ability to interrogate databases Highly specialist Ability to interpret complex data Highly specialist ability to convert data to management information Advanced use of Power BI Advanced use of MS Excel Highly specialist ability to independently interpret the requirements of information users and present detailed, complex reports that can be understood by a wide audience. Understanding of data quality issues and how these relate to the organisation as a whole Understanding of the Acute Healthcare business environment, particularly relating to income generation and financial planning across the organisation as a whole. Ability to produce clear and comprehensive documentation for BI and data transformation processes
