We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday, working 08:00 - 15:30 on a Monday and 08:00 – 16:00 on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Medical equipment is used for medical treatment and diagnosis of patients in all areas of a hospital and beyond. Having fully functional and accurate medical equipment is essential for the safe diagnosis and treatment of patients, and it is the Medical Equipment Management service that is responsible for that equipment. The Medical Equipment Management service are a team of highly trained clinical engineer technologists who are experts on medical equipment. We work across ten hospital sites in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, managing the full life-cycle of over 55,000 medical equipment devices, completing over 60,000 jobs per year. You will work as the Section Manager, leading a team of clinical engineer technologists based in Gartnavel General Hospital. You will have a permanent contract with a working week that is Monday to Friday. You will lead the team ensuring that all work is completed to the highest safety and governance standards, advising on highly complex repairs, and work with the team to develop their technical competency. Every day is different, you will have an opportunity to work on service development, to participate in medical equipment procurement projects, at all times working within the established ISO 55001 asset management system.

You will work with a wide range of medical devices including specialist and highly-complex equipment. You will receive both manufacturer and in-house specialist training, to maintain your skills to enable you to contribute to all stages of the medical device life cycle.
