The shift pattern for this position is rotational days and nights 11.5hrs Mon- Sun.

An exciting opportunity has within the Neuro Rehab unit (NRU) at QEUH as a Charge Nurse, we are looking for a highly driven, motivated and dedicated individual to lead a team.

Requirements:

You will be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and significant post registration experiences at band 5 level and a true passion for Neuro rehabilitation. Evidence of team working skills with ability to work using own initiative with knowledge around quality improvement to lead and support the SCN to demonstrate good outcomes for patients and staff. Effective listening, interpersonal skills and time management skills that can offer flexibility to support the service.

To undertake this role you must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with nursing colleagues and members of the multi-disciplinary team. You will be instrumental in ensuring a continuum of service delivery by responding to the many challenges presented on a daily basis on maintaining safe, effective, person centred care whilst supporting the senior charge nurse and deputizing in their absence, having the knowledge and skills to report and escalate priorities to ensure the ward is safe.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
