How you'll make a difference
As an AI Chapter Lead Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in leading the development and implementation of advanced AI solutions to drive innovation and efficiency within the bank. You'll have expert knowledge in the technology and engineering best practices related to all aspects of Artificial Intelligence (AI). You'll guide and mentor engineers in aligning with AI standards and controls to build features and solutions. You'll set and define standards and best practices, implement improvements to tooling, and monitor platforms across multiple teams to ensure that capabilities are developed in a consistent and coordinated way. You'll have knowledge of standard development tools, an agile work environment, TDD/BDD, and dev ops practices. You'll also be responsible for application ownership, lifecycle management, technology risk and technical debt management and to line manage, nurture, train and coach engineers within your chapter.

What you'll bring
• Bachelor's or master's in computer science, engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Experienced in software engineering with an emphasis on automated testing, TDD, BDD, and DevOps practices.
• Deep knowledge in building solutions using AI technologies with a deep understanding of AI/ML algorithms, LLMs, frameworks and tools.
• A proficiency in ML libraries (such as TensorFLow, PyTorch), and strong programming skills (R, Python, Java etc).
• A proven track record of implementing AI solutions into Regulated environments, with a strong understanding of the Governance and Controls required.
• Experience of managing Tier 1 applications, preferably within Financial Services, including vendor licensing and commercial negotiations.
• Experience of building application roadmaps, dealing with upgrades and deprecations.
