Applications are invited for a position of Centre Manager for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistics and Machine Learning (StatML) in the Department of Mathematics, Imperial College London.
The Centre Manager has responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Centre, including monitoring the budget/accounts; organising student training programmes; providing support to students; administering student records and processes from recruitment to graduation; event management and facilitating interaction amongst and between students, academic staff and industry partners; website and social media management. As the Centre Manager you will be a key point of contact for the CDT and will contribute to promotional activities and raising the centre’s profile. You will work in partnership with the Centre Manager based at the University of Oxford. As a member of a small team, you will be expected to undertake duties in an independent manner without the need for close supervision and be capable of taking the initiative.
The essential requirements for this post are as follows:Educated to degree level or equivalent experienceExperience within Higher Education administrationExperience of monitoring budgets and reporting on expenditureExperience of Event management, including organising conferences/workshopsExperience of website content design and maintenance using the appropriate softwareExcellent organisation and project management skills; the ability to plan and prioritise workloads and to meet multiple fixed deadlinesExcellent communication skills, with the ability to credibly communicate with staff at all levels, in both written and oral formatsExcellent committee servicing skillsExcellent interpersonal skills in order to develop effective relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels of seniorityExcellent IT skills, and the ability to get to grips with new electronic systems
