Redbridge Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)has an exciting opportunity for an experienced qualified professional to step into a senior role joining a diverse and experienced team. We are a friendly and innovative team that cover the London Borough of Redbridge .

This recruitment drive comes following a recently completed consultation and redesign process, moving this well-established team to the I-Thrive model of delivery. We are excited to be delivering a new therapeutic model informed by collaborative formulations which offer the opportunity for both targeted and longer-term interventions.

Main duties of the job

Working as a Senior Practitioners in Redbridge CAMHS you would have a high standard of CAMHS knowledge and experience of working with young people who are experiencing a range of mental health presentations.

We are looking for dynamic individuals who are passionate about ensuring there are robust and informative assessments in place for your Young people and their families and are committed to collaborative working across the Borough and utilizing the skills experience ad contribution of delivery partners across Health, Education and Social Care to ensure our young people are well looked after and are empowered to meet their potential.

We are looking for Leaders in practice who can steer and support in the therapeutic approaches available from within NELFT and in the Community- Leaders who can support Young People with time sensitive, and compassionate assessments with appropriate escalation to the medical team as required.

About us

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High-Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735) pro rata for part time staff.

Job responsibilities

The role of senior practitioner is to support the Service Front Door, with triaging, Initial Assessments, Duty Team and several exciting interface activities. These practitioners will be experienced and confident mental health workers who can support wide ranging discussions and provide clear risk and formulations to improve the journey of the young people presenting to the service. There will be opportunities to develop brief interventions and implementation of a range of groups and 1-1 therapies within the I Thrive Model and as indicated by CAMHS and NICE guidance.

NELFT support and encourage staff to develop professionally. In B&D CAMHS, we have a well established, rolling multidisciplinary in-house training programme. This ensures staffs are adequately supported in acquiring the appropriate skills required to deliver high quality evidence-based care and support to children, young persons and their families whilstdelivering meaningful outcomes for our young children, adolescent and families /carers.
