This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the largest alternative asset managers in the world. Technology is central to Man’s business strategy and we are constantly looking at better ways of doing things. Our culture embraces change; indeed change is the norm rather than the exception in a constantly evolving organisation and industry.

We are looking for skilled engineers with a genuine passion for technology to work within our C# Software Engineering teams. You will work on solutions in critical areas for an asset manager such as order management, trade settlement, risk management, fund accounting and client reporting.

All roles will have a balance of BAU and Project work. BAU work will involve maintaining the existing tech stack, 3rd line support and supporting the business with smaller enhancements and fixes, whilst project work will consist of longer term, more far-reaching changes that are a mixture of extending existing systems, incorporating new technologies and building out our strategic technology platform in line with our long-term vision.

This opening has the potential to be a high profile role with extensive interaction with business stakeholders and senior management across Man Group, so would suit individuals who thrive in those environments.

The Team:

We are looking for skilled engineers with a genuine passion for technology to work within the Enterprise Engineering Platform team. This group is responsible for the software that is at the heart of Man’s operating platform, known as ROSA. The platform provides firmwide technology solutions and underpins most of what the firm does from a reporting, compliance, risk management and client reporting perspective.

The team is focused on maintaining a centre of engineering excellence within the wider Enterprise Engineering team, providing technical leadership, driving strategic change, keeping up with technology trends, and evolving the platform to increase capacity, stability, and agility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owning the end-to-end delivery process – from requirements gathering through to development, testing, and coordinating deployment to production
  • Participating in/owning the planning, design, and delivery of longer-term projects
  • Participating in code reviews and knowledge sharing amongst peers
  • Continuous improvement of production components such as reducing technical debt, increasing release quality, and improving resource utilization
  • Encouraging and driving adoption of best practices and helping to improve business knowledge and understanding within the team
  • Support for production systems and BAU requests
  • Providing technical direction to team members
  • Mentoring and coaching members of the team and the wider Enterprise Engineering team
  • Interfacing with key senior stakeholders to plan and deliver on Man-wide strategic initiatives

Key Skills

  • Strong delivery focused approach, ensuring business value is being met
  • Core experience in C# and .NET
  • Query writing, schema design and performance tuning in MS SQL Server
  • Ability to balance business delivery and incremental adoption of new architectural platform features
  • Proponent of collaborative software engineering techniques and methods
  • Confident communicator; able to argue a point concisely and deal positively with conflicting views

Useful Experience

  • Any working knowledge of Kafka

Working Here

Negotiating Your AI Job Offer: Equity, Bonuses & Perks Explained

Artificial intelligence (AI) has proven itself to be one of the most transformative forces in today’s business world. From smart chatbots in customer service to predictive analytics in finance, AI technologies are reshaping how organisations operate and innovate. As the demand for AI professionals grows, so does the complexity of compensation packages. If you’re a mid‑senior AI professional, you’ve likely seen job offers that include far more than just a base salary—think equity, bonuses, and a range of perks designed to entice you into joining or staying with a company. For many, the focus remains squarely on salary. While that’s understandable—after all, your monthly take‑home pay is what covers day-to-day expenses—limiting your negotiations to salary alone can leave considerable value on the table. From stock options in ambitious startups to sign‑on bonuses that ‘buy you out’ of your current contract, modern AI job offers often include elements that can significantly boost your long-term wealth and job satisfaction. This article aims to shed light on the full scope of AI compensation—specifically focusing on how equity, bonuses, and perks can enhance (or sometimes detract from) the overall value of your package. We’ll delve into how these elements work in practice, what to watch out for, and how to navigate the negotiation process effectively. Our goal is to provide mid‑senior AI professionals with the insights and tools to land a holistic compensation deal that accurately reflects their technical expertise, leadership potential, and strategic importance in this fast-moving field. Whether you’re eyeing a leadership role in machine learning at an established tech giant, or you’re considering a pioneering position at a disruptive AI startup, the knowledge in this guide will help you weigh the merits of base salary alongside the potential riches—and risks—of equity, bonuses, and other benefits. By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of how to align your compensation with both your immediate lifestyle needs and long-term career aspirations.
