We have a fantastic opportunity for aBusiness Intelligence Analystto join the Foodbuy Data & Analytics team at what is an exciting time of change and opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in BI tools such as PowerBI and QuickSight, proficiency in SQL, and hands-on experience with AWS Redshift database. You will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using PowerBI and QuickSight to visualise key metrics and trends
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs
  • Perform data analysis, data profiling, and data validation to ensure accuracy and completeness of information
  • Optimise and streamline data queries and pipelines using SQL for efficient data retrieval and manipulation
  • Interpret data, analyse results, and provide insights to support business objectives and initiatives
  • Monitor and maintain data quality and integrity across databases and reporting platforms
  • We encourage hybrid working at Compass Group with colleagues generally spending two or three days a week in the office or on-site with the remainder working from home. The role's primary location is based in Chertsey, Surrey

Skills required:
Essential

  • Previous experience of working as a Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role
  • Proven experience in BI tools such as PowerBI and QuickSight with a strong portfolio showcasing dashboard and report development skills
  • Proficiency in SQL to write complex queries for data analysis and reporting
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Redshift or similar cloud-based data warehousing solutions
  • Knowledge of best practice data visualisation techniques
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex analysis results clearly and effectively

Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Certifications in PowerBI, QuickSight, or AWS
  • Prior experience in the food, retail, or procurement industries or similar
  • Agile development methodologies
  • Familiarity with Python, R or other data science tools
