BI Data Analyst


A unique opportunity for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join a wonderful health-tech company in the Ipswich area. Having grown to almost 100 people, they are looking to bring on another Data Analyst to develop and improve the use of data, reporting, and visualisation both internally and for the customer base.


Location:Ipswich – a village just outside (ideally you will be able to drive but public transport options are available) - 3 days in office, 2 days remote


Salary:£30,000 - £40,000 per annum + excellent benefits


Requirements for BI Data Analyst:

  • Strong knowledge of ideally PowerBI, however, if you have strong Tableau, Qlik Sense or Looker and are keen to upskill in new areas we are keen to hear from you.
  • You will have solid commercial experience working in a role where you have been analysing data and building reports
  • Ideally, you will be degree educated in a relevant technical subject such as Computer Science, Mathematics etc
  • Highly analytical
  • You possess excellent attention to detail with strong concentration skills
  • Capable of both independent work and effective teamwork
  • Keenness to learn new systems
  • You have strong communication skills, verbal and written, and are confident communicating at all organisational level


Responsibilities for Graduate Data Analyst:

  • Develop and enhance data, reporting, and visualisation capabilities within the organisation using PowerBI, SQL, Excel and Power Query
  • Adapt tasks and responsibilities as systems and client needs evolve
  • Initial focus on data reconciliation, data cleansing, spreadsheet maintenance, and reporting
  • Participate in end-to-end report and data visualisation development, covering requirements gathering, development, and testing.
  • Play a central role in analysing data to derive valuable insights
  • Conduct regular data quality checks, reporting activities, and ad-hoc data analysis
  • Perform data reconciliation using spreadsheet and database platforms
  • Manage spreadsheet reporting activities, including stakeholder reports and data updates
  • Conduct data cleansing activities in source systems
  • Collect and document requirements for Power BI, spreadsheets, and other reports
  • Maintain and enhance existing reports and data sources
  • Develop new reports and data sources
  • Test reports and document faults
  • Analyse data, calculations, and trends in data sources and reports
