This is a great opportunity for the right candidate with the right attitude and proven aptitude to join Dev/Ops team comprising platform, development, UI and QA engineers developing solutions at the heart of commercial radio and the burgeoning global media sector. You’ll be responsible for building/maintaining our cloud infrastructure, as well as assisting the team in the CI/CD of code, by way of pipelines and liaising with customers on the process of managing infrastructure within their own AWS environments.

Our product, like AWS, is a continuously changing and improving. You will be the primary conduit for ensuring our product is as sleek, secure, and cost-effective. The highly burstable nature of the traffic our customers’ business practices produce presents unique challenges and opportunities for innovation within AWS. As such, we use serverless options wherever possible. We are an R&D heavy company, and this role is no exception. You’ll be expected to be constantly innovating and improving our infrastructure, both in-house, and for our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Managing Control Tower access for developers and QA’s

· Writing and maintaining IaC templates

· Monitoring and diagnosing issues in a development/live environment

· Assisting customers in deploying templates to their own clouds

· Updating existing infrastructure with the latest improvements from AWS

· Continuously updating/tightening security polices, in response to new features from the development team

· Implementing quality-of-life improvements for the developers and QA’s

· Writing/monitoring CI/CD pipelines.

· Deploying new code-bases to AWS

· Working with developers to create a serverless cloud environment

· Ensuring the platform meets the requirements of a well-architected design, is robust, scalable, high-performance and highly resilient.

· Ensuring the platform cost-optimized and to work with the team to understand the cost/benefit analysis of design considerations.

· Ensuring resilience is baked into both platform design and operational processes to guarantee uptime and zero single points of failure

· Lead the team in their exploration of related AWS technologies (such as Content Delivery Network, Speech Recognition, Machine Learning) and how these could be brought to bear in our application development goals.

Skills / Attributes Required

· Minimum of a BSc degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline is required

· AWS Certified ‘DevOps Engineer – Professional’ Certification required. We cannot consider candidates who do not have this certification.

· At least 3 years’ experience in managing and maintaining multi-tenanted AWS platforms

· Battle-hardened, hand-on, practical experience in working with the following AWS technologies (in order of priority);

o AWS Control Tower

o AWS CloudFormation / Terraform

o AWS Cloud Watch

o AWS RDS

o AWS Lambda

o AWS Cognito

o AWS VPC’s

o AWS SSO

o AWS Backup

o AWS ECS / Fargate

o AWS Code Pipeline / Codebuild / Codedeploy

o AWS API Gateway / API Gateway V2

· Experience with REST, XML, JSON, and/or web service experience

· Software engineering to enable the creation and management of API’s between our platform and 3rd party platforms using scripting such as python, perl, bash.

· Basic Linux sysadmin skills (permissions/user management, OpenRSA, SSH, GPG, etc.)

· Experience with agile methodologies, lean, and Continuous Improvement (CI)

· Experience with networking and creating and modifying route tables, subnets, and CIDR blocks.

· WAF and networking (route tables, security groups, openvpn/wireguard, IPSec, split-tunneling)

· Designing, implementing, and refining serverless architecture

· Basic SQL preferred, but not essential
