Job Description:
The Department of Ocean & Earth Sciences at Old Dominion University (ODU) seeks candidates with research interests in Computational Ocean Sciences for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with an expected start date of Fall 2024. Research interests can include any of the following: climate and ocean data analysis, physical-biological interactions, biogeochemistry, and sea-level rise.

The successful candidate will have expertise in using data science and machine learning to study ocean processes and may utilize the University high performance computing environment. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop an independent and externally funded research program, contribute to teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, mentor students, and contribute to ODU’s interdisciplinary research activities focused on environmental data science and resilience.
