NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. 

There are two fulltime, permanent posts of 37 hours per week available. The shift pattern is 5/7, including weekend working.

Within NHSGGC South Sector the AHP teams work together supporting each other to ensure we produce high quality care for our patients.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 4 assistant practitioner with an interest in Older People’s Rehabilitation to work alongside an established respected and experienced team.
This post involves supporting the occupational therapy and physiotherapy staff in delivering a high quality service to patients. The work will be based mainly in a ward environment however this may vary according to the service and patient group.
The applicant will be expected to carry their own patient caseload and to treat patients while following protocol led guidelines.
Candidate must have previous experience of working as a therapy support worker at Band 3 level and have the skills to engage with and motivate others. You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to health care. Candidates should display flexibility and evidence a strong team work ethic.
Training will be provided to allow you to undertake clinical and non-clinical duties. You will be fully supported by the occupational therapy and physiotherapy staff and will participate in supervision and personal development planning to help fulfil continuous professional development

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
