Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial lawyer specializing in technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice globally.
Key Responsibilities:
Support legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; handle day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal matters.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and network policies.
Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal advice.
Develop and implement governance policies, procedures, and playbooks.
Review and advise on new services and solutions, including governance processes and legal/regulatory issues.
Manage external legal counsel across jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
Balance practical advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
Present on legal topics and write articles; mentor junior team members.
About You:
UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant law firm experience; in-house experience is a plus.
Strong legal skills with the ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues.
Strategic risk management skills with quick issue recognition and mitigation recommendations.
Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements across jurisdictions.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex files.
Capable of balancing legal risks with business growth needs.
Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced, global environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
