The Role:

As an AI Engineer, you will join our dynamic technology and compliance team, focusing on regulatory adherence and automation of controls within the banking sector. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered systems, specifically leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) on Google Cloud, to detect, interpret, and respond to changes in regulatory policies, ensuring that the controls remain current and effective.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement AI solutions using LLMs to monitor, parse, and summarise regulatory policy changes from multiple jurisdictions and sources.
  • Automate the detection of regulatory updates and map these changes to existing Bank controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with compliance, risk, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of AI-driven controls with the Bank’s governance frameworks and operational processes.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable AI pipelines and applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
  • Create and maintain documentation for AI models, workflows, and automated controls, ensuring transparency and auditability.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of automated controls and recommend enhancements based on new regulatory requirements or technological advancements.
  • Conduct regular reviews and testing of AI models to ensure accuracy, fairness, and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in AI, LLMs, and regulatory technology (RegTech), and proactively propose innovative solutions.


Your Profile:

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Proven experience in developing and deploying AI/ML solutions, with specific expertise in Large Language Models (e.g., GPT, PaLM, BERT) and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, such as Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (preferred), Java, or similar languages, including experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments in banking/finance and understanding of regulatory change management processes.
  • Knowledge of automation, workflow orchestration, and version control tools (e.g., Airflow, Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications and automated controls.
  • Experience in delivering solutions in Agile environments and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.


Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Experience in RegTech or working with compliance and audit teams in a banking or financial services context.
  • Certification in Google Cloud (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Professional Machine Learning Engineer).
  • Understanding of data privacy, security, and ethical considerations in AI applications.
