We're looking for an innovative Analytics and Disease Planning Lead to join our Rare Disease team in the UK and Ireland. Use your expertise to help us deliver life-changing medicines and drive impactful decisions. As the Analytics & Disease Planning Lead, you will act as a strategic advisor and data-driven centre of excellence for cross-functional franchise teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions by designing and deploying a robust data and analytics strategy aligned with Alexion's UK & Ireland business objectives across the entire lifecycle of rare disease products. Analyze and interpret complex datasets, providing actionable insights to support disease plans, business performance, optimize engagement levels with our key customers, and ensure sustainable growth for strategic brands. Leverage advanced analytics techniques and tools like Power BI or Tableau to champion data-driven decision-making, optimize customer engagement, and integrate insights into the business planning processes. Additionally, play a pivotal role in driving innovation through exploring new data sources, predictive modelling, and emerging analytical technologies to enhance Alexion’s capabilities and portfolio prioritization.

Accountabilities

Disease Planning: Support cross-functional franchise teams to develop robust disease plans designed to deliver business and therapy area objectives. Ensure integration of customer insights, patient voice, and competitive intelligence into the business planning processes using a data-driven approach. Play a key role in mid-term planning exercises, leading the localization of therapy area key assumptions and patient funnel analysis across the product portfolio of UK and IE to ensure successful mid-term planning execution including portfolio prioritization and launch planning. Data and Analytics Management: Analyze and interpret complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights across sales, marketing, medical, and customer data to support cross-functional disease plan development and execution, identification of priority tactics, and disease and brand performance reviews. Apply advanced analytics techniques, including machine learning and predictive modelling, to support commercialization efforts. Champion and lead analytics for Alexion UK & Ireland supporting any global implementation of relevant tools and platforms (i.e., Power BI, Tableau or similar platforms) to support the business. Therapy Area Performance: Lead local therapy area performance reviews working cross-functionally with business leaders supported by data-driven analysis to improve market performance and ensure sustainable growth for our strategic brands. Optimize engagement levels with our key customers to elevate impact and seamlessly integrate insights into our cross-functional strategies. Develop predictive models and algorithms to support customer segmentation, sales excellence, marketing campaigns, and medical activity optimization. Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate insights to collaborators within the company. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive data and analytics strategy aligned with Alexion's UK and Ireland business objectives throughout the entire lifecycle of specific rare diseases. Partner with local and above-market teams to ensure success in the data and analytics strategy and execution. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in disease planning and data analytics. Propose the introduction of new technology that will strengthen business performance. Drive innovation by exploring new data sources and analytical tools to enhance Alexion’s capabilities and ensure sustainable growth and portfolio prioritization of our strategic brands.

Essential Skills/Experience

Proven professional experience in analyzing data sets within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry across sales, marketing, and medical functions University Degree in data science, finance, health economics or a related field, or equivalent experience Ability to independently analyze and translate complex data sets into a clear story fully contextualized with business priorities and strategy Very proficient and efficient user of Excel, PowerPoint, and other software analytical tools Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms Strong curiosity about Rare Diseases in the broader healthcare ecosystem Demonstrated critical thinking, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing conditions Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical audiences

Desirable Skills/Experience

Experience with competitive intelligence analysis is a plus Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL Experience with data automation solutions Experience analysing Hospital Service Episode (HSE) Data
