At Beam, you get to do work that matters. We’re solving the world’s toughest social problems with tech, AI and a world-class team. And we’re growing fast It’s not easy. Nothing worth doing ever is. But we take care of everyone who works here with everything from coaching to personal budgets and pay highly competitively. You’ll be joining a company that’s already having a huge impact on people’s lives with a culture where you can be yourself, have fun and progress rapidly. We're one of the Hottest 10 Startups in London according to WIRED and one of LinkedIn’s Top 15 UK Startups. About the Role We’re looking for a AI Product Associate to play a critical role delivering Beam’s digital products that span internal tooling and SaaS, with a focus on our AI. Reporting to the Product Owner, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting underserved frontline workers, like social workers, with the latest technologies. Today, these frontline workers manually type up their case notes and assessments, meaning they spend the majority of their time on admin tasks, rather than providing amazing human support. In this role, you will be creating complex, detailed AI prompts to turn meeting transcripts into high-quality written assessments within seconds. You will deeply understand what frontline workers need from their notes, and use your prompt engineering expertise to effectively draw this out. You’ll be: Creating and testing prompts: developing new prompts and iteratively improving existing ones using feedback from our users, internal reviews and performance metrics. You’ll be thinking about the content of the output, alongside tone of voice, specialised vocabulary, and drawing out the highest priority information. Encouraging sector-leading quality: ensuring the highest quality of output by implementing a structured testing process, including baseline tests, leadership reviews, and beta testing with frontline workers. Collaborating cross-functionally: working closely with other product managers, engineers, and end-users to capture requirements and incorporate feedback into the templates. Ensuring data privacy and security: paying close attention to data privacy and security, threading these considerations throughout your work, with a constant focus on the sensitive area we work in and the vulnerabilities of many users. Documenting and sharing learnings: capturing insights and best practices to improve processes and share knowledge across the team. Innovating continuously: staying updated with the latest advancements in AI and LLMs to continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our templates. Understanding how we take our outputs to the next level through machine learning, training models, and other methods. Building out the prompt engineering function: developing the prompt engineering function at Beam, ensuring it scales effectively as our AI products grow and add value to frontline workers across the UK. You’ll have: Experience with prompt engineering: proven experience in delivering detailed, high-quality AI prompts, ideally within a SaaS environment. Ability to troubleshoot complex prompts to diagnose issues, and bring creative solutions to continuously improve. Technical proficiency: strong understanding of natural language processing, LLMs and machine learning technologies. Strong understanding of cloud-based deployments is a plus. Attention to detail: ability to create precise and accurate prompts that meet the needs and solve problems for different user groups. Collaborative mindset: demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and end-users to deliver high-quality solutions. Problem-solving skills: ability to quickly understand complex problems and develop effective, data-driven solutions. Passion for social impact: a desire to work in a respectful, transparent, and collaborative environment, excited by Beam’s company values, culture, and mission to support frontline teams. Experience or knowledge of providing care and support to disadvantaged groups, along with an understanding of the associated reporting requirements, is a valuable plus Why join Beam? Impactful work: directly contribute to a product that makes a tangible difference in the lives of social workers and the communities they serve. Fast-growing startup: be part of a rapidly expanding company recognised for its innovative solutions and positive social impact. Supportive environment: enjoy a culture where you can be yourself, have fun, and progress rapidly with the support of coaching and personal development budgets. Competitive compensation: we offer highly competitive pay and benefits. Sound like you? If you’re excited about leveraging AI to support frontline workers and make a difference, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick every box.
